Cindy Schmelzer is an Institutional Research and Decision Support Analyst, specializing in creating dashboards and reporting for the university community. Prior to working in Institutional Research and Decision Support, she was a Financial and Compliance Reporting Analyst at the KSU and has worked at the university since September of 2015. Cindy consults with stakeholders in order to determine their data needs and produces the reporting solution that best supports their business, thus enhancing their decision-making capabilities.
Prior to working at KSU, Cindy worked for a Courier Express, a freight company, analyzing truck driver and vehicle data and providing financial, compliance, and safety reports for the owner of the company. Cindy worked in Operational Excellence and Assessment Support at the University of Central Florida where she completed surveys and compiled required data for analysis, supporting the assessment efforts of the University. Cindy also managed the Data Systems department at a mortgage company earlier in her career, where she oversaw the implementation of a PC environment from a mainframe environment. Other higher education experience includes the University of Wisconsin as a database administrator and at the University of Miami in the Information Systems department as a trainer.
Cindy enjoys working in higher education and is passionate about working with her constituents to help them determine their data needs, which in turn, helps them make better business decisions for their department and the University. She is very knowledgeable of integrated information systems and reporting practices.
Cindy earned an MS in Computer Information Systems, a BA in Psychology and a minor in Computer Science from the University of Miami.
