Dr. Funk earned her undergraduate degree in the Administration of Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Education degree in Special Education from Each Carolina University. In 2005, she completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Instructional Design for Online Learning at Capella University. Dr. Funk has over 14 years experience working in public schools and teacher education. She has served in various teaching and leadership positions during her 10 years at Kennesaw State University including, Learning Technologies Center Coordinator, Director of the Educational Technology Training Center, and most recently serving as Electronic Data Manager for the Professional Teacher Education Unit. Dr. Funk’s research interests include 21st century skills, electronic portfolios, and exploring how the combination of emerging brain research new technologies can significantly influence the teaching and learning process.
